I just have a few questions about boring. How big is too big to bore out the blaster engine? And what parts/kits or w/e should I buy for it? I heard vito's isn't so good....

and also I want it ported too. I called up a mechanic in my area and got the price, but they wanted to know if it was a standard port or a radical one... what do they mean by "radical"? Like drag porting?

Thanks!!

i could be wrong but radical portng is like drag port.. meaning they took alot of material off..wiseco piston's are what most people use..boring never gives u a power gain so only go as big as needed.. 2 over is max from what a book that i got says but once u get that big u cant bore anymore and need new sleeve..then u end up with heating issues..hope that helped alittle

got yurself a good mx port and only go up one size on the bore, if your looking for a power gain, you could do a 3mm stroker and a 240 kit, vitos arent bad but their piston that comes with the 240 kit is not the best, hope this helps, oh airsal and ct make 240 kits also

Yeah I was thinking about an MX port. I want a good amount of speed on the straight trails i have. But now i'm a little confused...a 240 kit requires boring. But the boring itself gives no gain?

Anywhere you think I could get a vito's kit with weisco pistons? I guess eBay....

eBay Motors: YAMAHA 200 BLASTER 240 BIG BORE KIT LA Sleeve Wiseco (item 300172766665 end time Apr-14-08 05:50:19 PDT)

or what? could someone send me a link of what i need?

thanks for the quick responses too!

ALSO i just bid on a FMF gold series fatty pipe from a 98 blaster. It doesn't come with "flange bolts that connect it to the jug" ...do I need these bolts to fit it on an '03?

It's only like 25 dollars so far...so i thought it was a good deal.

well you cant really bore a stock sleeve out far enough to make any real power difference which is why there is big bore kits. and as far as the 240 kits go i would suggest going through CT racing.

You can get a vito's bb kit with a weisco piston. Theres nothing wrong with the vito's kit as long as you get a forged piston for it. ct kits are go if you plan on pro racing otherwise they aren't worth the money. A vito's kit properly ported will run with a ct kit. Its always better to get an unported cylinder and have an engine builder port it for you. If you get a bb kit don't waste your money on an fmf pipe, they're not made for the bigger cylinder, get a right bend pipe like an f7, lrd or dyno port. Also get yourself a 35mm airstryker and some v-force3 reeds

68mm ( 80 over ) is the biggest id recommend going otherwise you will have serious over heating issues...

yeah, like stated above, the 240 sleeve kits means the machinist centers the cylinder and bores out the existing sleeve big enough to get the new sleeve(240cc)to tightly fit into the cylinder, but when going with a sleeve kit you need to have headwork done as well, you should just go with the vito's kit with a forged piston, get the one that includes the cylinder and the head, they are matched for each other, then take your cylinder to a machinist with your exhaust to get it port matched for the maximum flow

I'M SORRY, BUT I'M GOING TO HAVE TO CALL YOU ON THE CT REMARK. VITO'S
DOES NOT HAVE NEAR THE INTAKE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH PORTING YOU DO
TO IT. IT'S SIMPLY TO SMALL FOR THE BIG BORES FULL POTENTIAL.
