Im in the middle of a rebuild, but i was just curuios... the hose that goes to a connector right beside the cylinder on the engine block .. What is it and where does it go? My guess is its a vacuum hose, but where does it leads? supposed to connect in the other end? The carb? Maybe a stupid Q.. because it will properly find out when im installing the motor back into the frame.. but that would be in like 3 weeks from now.. so anyone?

(the reason why i ask i I also did a oilblock off.. the homemade, where you remove the white drivegear.. so is there a connection between that and the hose on the engine case... )

i believe thats the crank case breather tube.
i have a picture that might help you determine but not really sure where it goes as i havent really messed with it yet.

yeah its that one! .. the orange hose.. its because the hose is not on my block off corse.. so i was just wondering what that "fitting"? was for..

Where does it lead the breather tube? Out to open air?

yes just a breather vent for the tranny. i had a conversation about it awhile back with a yamaha tech and yes it just goes to open air. you can put a filter on it if you want to help stop water/mud/dirt. don't use a gas tank vent/filter though those are only a one way vent.

It does. I was wondering the same thing the other day when I was cleaning my blaster and saw it. It goes back, then up near the air tube and follows the upper frame rail all the way to the front and ends behind the hood. I don't think a filter would be necessary because it doesn't suck air in. And the hose is so long, I don't see dirty collecting and getting back into it. Unless it was for cosmetic purposes.
