Ok so i havent posted in a while, because i havent had any money for my bike lol. and havent really had time lol. well i have time and money now so i am wondering. i put the bike compeltely together. its a 2000 blaster. it is missing the ignition coil and the spark plug cap. it is also missing the oil seals. due to it missing the oil seals is that a way it is losing compression? also if i dont have the key how do i start it without one? thanks alot - Jon

What oil seals are you referring to? Not having a key isn't a problem, if it has the key switch on it still just unplug it. Otherwise, just leave the wires for the switch unhooked, and it'll start. I'd suggest just putting some tape over the ends to keep them from contacting the frame.

hey i was wondering guys. since he doesnt have a key doesnt he have to put the wires together to start it? my friends both had a ds 650 and a trx450 and they both started it by putting the wires together. jw...

Nope, all you have to do on a blaster is unplug it, I removed the key switch on mine a while ago to clean up the looks some. You just gotta make sure to tape the wires so they don't touch the frame and ground out.

not a fresh top end really. i purchased 2 motors with the bike and one top end was bad the other was good so i threw new gaskets and rings on with the good topend. ( good as in smooth cylidner and piston nothing wrong with that area ). i put the crank and everythign back together and put the motor onto the bike realizing i never replaces the crank seals. and that it was missing the entire ignition coil . im goign to order the ignition coil and seals now as well as a gasket kit.

ok im very frustrated right now lol. ordered gaskets and oil seals.. ordered ignition coil and i cant friggen find the spark plug boot! any idea where i can find one?

gah i wish i checked that before i ordered it lol i found it and i bought it from ngk. that and a plug came to 13 bucks not too bad . tyvm tho !
