high temp silicon

where did you buy it from? Is it the typical stuff, like liquid gasket, you use for sled exhausts thats red in colour?

thats too low of a temp range..use some permatex RED RTV...i usually give it at least 3hours and it has never leaked..use it on the pipe-cylinder and pipe-silencer...

i used the permatex copper sh*t, i think 700+ degrees

Red RTV indeed works fine. Remember that your exhaust can heat to upwards of 350 degrees F, so I'd get something rated for at least 500 F. Minimum. I believe Permatex non-hardenng grey RTV meets these specs.

I actually use goop called Dirko. I'm sure few (if any) ATV riders have heard of this stuff. It is basically heavy-duty RTV. Stihl, a manufacturer of outdoor power equipment such as chainsaws and leaf blowers, is the supplier. Those folks use it from the factory on almost every engine they build. Typical German engineers. They HATE using gaskets! :D Anyways, if it's good enough for a leading manufacturer of 2-stroke engines, it's good enough for me!

I've stuck more Sthil 4-Mix and Kohler Command engines back together with this stuff.... It works. That's all I can say. By the time the engine has been fully-assembled, the Dirko has already cured. Doesn't take more than an hour.

well what ever you got is most likely crap but prematex ultra copper is the best high temp scilecone iv used and dosnt stop working unless you take the exhaust off or if you dont put on right and this has diretions

well thats 3 votes for the ultra copper, but rep givin for the dirko advice
