I am working on a friends Blaster. I finally got it running after trading out parts on mine to try and single out the problem. It was bad gas this whole time. I have been f@#king with it for a week! Anyway, when it starts up it idles wildly (sounds like the throttle is nailed) with the idle screw all the way in and will not idle down. I am thinking its an air leak but don't know where to start looking. Could someone help please. Thanks in advance to all who reply.

check the cap on the top of the carb to make sure its tight, check the head nuts, check the base nuts, and check the intake boots and reed cage

turn the airscrew out 1 1/2 turns to start with.you can either make a leakdown tester or get come carb cleaner and spray around where the gaskets are when its started.does it have tors still on if so check the idle screw on top.if not adjust the cable all the way down on the carb cap and at the throttle.and then go from there

It does still have the TORS. The air screw is out 1 1/2 turns as well as the idle screw on the TORS (1 1/2 turns out). It has an FMF Power Core pipe and silencer. I sprayed carb cleaner around the intake boot, head bolts and gasket and base bolts and gasket and nothing happened. He didn't have an air box cover or air filter so I sprayed carb cleaner into the air intake and it idled down. What could be causing this?

Easy way to check for an air leak is to spay carb cleaner around the carb and reed setup if it is sucking air it will almost die out,but sounds like you need to retune your carb though, mine did the same thing. Just get your idle/air screws right and you should be set.

slide was not closing all the way. I fixed it but I think it is sticking. Anyone know where I can get a TORS delete kit? Also, I'm going to rebuild the carb. I can't find any air leaks so the slide seems to be the only problem.

if you take the top part of the tors apart you can adjust the slack in the cable that holds the slide, just loosen the nut and move the lever down.

you can get TORS delets from ebay or from vito's, just make sure it has the idle screw so you can drill and tap and put it into the side of the carb

its inside the round part that runs up and down on the carb. the part that slides up and down to open/close the carb

it shouldn't matter if the plugs are gone, if its sucking air the seal on the crank is junk and needs replaced
