sup guys i got a 2005 blaster and im having some trouble with the idle...i already adjusted the idle screw and seemed to calmed it down a little but the screw is basically all the way out and it still wants to rev real high either in idle or when i hold the clutch in..plus it seems to lack some top end power i just got the thing probably 2 months ago and hung out with some friends that were ripping the front tires up with theirs effortlesly and mine doesnt even wanna do that

also ive noticed a pretty good amount of smoke when i first start it up but seems to fade after warming up...

i just put new rings in it and reed valves just because the rings were getting old and the reed valves were looking a little worn..

when its running warmed up it can only run good when the petcock is in RES and when i do get it going fast as soon as i let go of the throttle it wants to die and bog down so i have to give it gas just to keep it running

As far as i know the jets in there are stock as well as the piston and cylinder..theres nothing aftermarket on it except for the exhaust

im kinda new to two strokes so any help is good

THanks!I:I

welcome to the site!! it sounds like your fuel tank needs cleaned if it wont run with it in the on position and your jetting is probobly off if you have an aftermarket exhaust. what exhaust do you have? have you tried to do a leakdown test? just to clarify the screw on the side of the carb is a air screw not a idle screw the idle screw is under your seat on top of the carb.

Um firstly you have a air leak, did you replace the gaskets when you rebuild it and you NEED to richen your carb for the exhaust you are running really lean and need serious attention asap!

i replaced every gasket...i rlly just think im running really lean but im not positive...i know when i took the engine apart the first time the one reed valve was broke a little which leads me to bleave the previous owner messed with the jets in order to make it run

its a fmf exhaust i have not yet tryed a leak down test cause im not sure when to get the tester or how to make it plus i dont have an air compressor

and this may sound stupid but by almost backing that screw all the way out am i adding or taking away air supply? and how much should it b adjusted?:-/

you dont need an air compressor for a leakdown tester and you can make your own for pretty cheap. you screw that air screw out to lean it and in to richen it up. your pilot jet could be dirty, try cleaning your carb up.. also see what size jets are in there.

alright so i put the air screw back in and adjusted the idle almost 2 whole turns out! and it seems to running fine now thanks for the help guys! good feedback for u both
