Could I technically buy this hid kit and just run one of the ballasts since its only 55 watts?

I know I would have to make a housing and all that but that wouldnt be a big deal

I don't know for sure but I really think they won't work well. I know they pull a lot of power at start up. I don't think they would stay on with the un stable voltage from the lighting coil. The AC voltage my really screw with them to.

you would need to convert your coil to the 75w coil i believe moose (?) makes

and even then you could only run one because they take 55w each.

better to get the good LED lights and run a DC setup

Could only run one as stated. Would need DC conversion. Probably need battery to fire off the ballast.

LED, cheeper, easier, probably better

If you did the DC conversion and installed a battery you should be good but the LED sounds the better way to go
