Hi all, need help with gear oil out breather?

Hi all, i'm new to the forum and tried to find this out in the search previous posts but no dice. The breather tube that runs from the cranckcase up under the gas tank and out the front faux radiator shroud of my 01 was pumping out gear oil last weekend. kind of alot! I dont think it was overfilled. For now i'm gonna drain it and put new oil in and see what happens. I was letting it idle in the driveway for about a 1/2 hour and came out and found the puddle on the ground. Any ideas. thanks

Did you do anything to the blaster? Like change the gear oil or did it just start doing it out of the blue?

Thats the thing, i didn't do anything recently. What I was wondering was how much case oil was left in it. Just in case I have been riding and losing gear oil without noticing it. I didn't lose too much or do any damage I dont think. I was just trying to fix it before it got any worse. The only thing I can think of is to change the oil tomorrow and refill it and keep an eye on it. Any other ideas of what could cause this? PS the gear oil that is in it isnt old or dirty either.

did the oil plug come loose or are you sure it was the vent hose

My 04 did that several times even tho I know it wasn't overfilled. I finally decided it was due to my leaking crank seal. Hasn't happened since I changed it.
