Well, after about 10 years of not having a ride, I'm shopping around. My last quad was a 1991 LT250, and I want a reasonably priced sporty machine to play around on. Maybe a Blaster would work for me? I'm just a little concerned with the size. I'm about 6' tall, 190lbs or so. Will I fit? Thanks in advance. :)

Hi! I reckon a blaster is good as a first quad as it is what I got..I dont know about your height though..could do :D

You would be surprised at how many bigger guys ride Blasters.. As already said with a few cheap (ish) mods you can make it feel like a bigger quad. You will be fine. Welcome to the forum !

welcome to the forum man and yea im over 6 feet and like 230-240 :-D and im fine on it. Get a Blaster man you'll be happy

im not as tall as you, im 5'8 but im 210 and when i first got it with minimal mods, it hauled ass so dont have to worry power wise, but theres a few mods to make it seem bigger.

welcome.

i have a friend who is almost 300 lbs an an my blasty still pulls him so i dont think the weight thing will be a problem an im 6 ft an have plenty of room so you should be alright an welcome to the forum

im about the same size as you and it felt a little small stock, but if you get an extended steering stem it feels like a hole new quad

Im 5'8" but only weigh 130. I can throw the my blaster around like nothing. Youll be fine with it. But deff. recommend to get an extended steering stem, that will open it up some for you. Also take off or cut your front fenders and this will also open it up alot. I just felt a lil to clostofobic with the front fenders on it. A lil to boxy for me also. But ne way welcome to the forum.

I think I may be closest to one of the bigger riders on this froum. 6' 270-280. I got a +4 swinger, Diamond J widening kit, +5 spacers in the rear (soon to be G force axle) and I made custom risers for my bars so make them about 2" higher than stock.

My fenders are stock and I have never had any problems with my knees or anything hitting them.

I would get a blaster and must build it. Its way funner than buying a 400 or 450 and keeping it stock. Much better to build a small quad to beat the sh*t out of big quad!

Well, I had my eye on one, went and looked at it today, and brought it home! It's an '06, very, very clean. Has a DMC Alien pipe/silencer, Vforce 3 reed setup, and new ITP Holeshots ( and he threw in the original tires that are studded and still probably 85% left). I really don't think this thing has more than 10 hrs or so on it. I will need more suspension, as I can bottom the rear just jumping on it standing still. I'm thinking a +4 swingarm and some +3+1 arms up front. Not sure what shocks, but probably YFZ? Do the YFZ shocks bolt up as far as bolt/pin sizes etc?
I couldn't believe how easy it was to load it by myself into the back of my truck. It'll be a fun little machine I'm sure. I'm pretty stoked. I'll post up some pics when I get chance. Thanks for the encouragement so far.

Welcome to the forum

I:IYou wont regret it!!! they are loads of fun plus ownership costs are about as low as it gets. There are a couple of things you will want to take care of right away if they haven't already been done. 1. Oil injection block off kit The oil injection is a ticking time bomb known to fry a motor with out warning 2. remove the T.O.R.S. system (Big thing on top the carb) its nothing but a headache. There are detailed instructions in the DIY section
Have fun and see you around.

Welcome and congrats on the new machine! im 5'7 and 153 lbs to be exact! lol and mine fit me almost perfect!

Pics as promised!

It no longer looks like that...I have all the plastics off and I'll soon be doing LT A-Arms and I'm going to cut and lengthen the rear swingarm with a re-positioned shock mount for the YFZ rear shock.:-D

On a side note? What can I do with those ugly rear foot guards that are attached to the rear fenders? If you just take them off it looks funny cause the fenders aren't the same? Just cut them up higher or what?
