I have, original owner, 2004 blaster with the six speed. just changed the top end for the first time last winter. I have a TORS delete kit and an oil block off kit, everything else stock. went to start it since last winter and won't start. removed carb cleaned, took completely apart, cleaned all the little holes, put back together and nothing. also, i noticed i only get spark when the key is in the off position and not in the on position, found out while i was checking for spark(very weird). compression is 145, and plug is new. any help i can get would be greatly appreciated. oh yeah, top end kit i installed is one of those chinese $100 kits, but did work great last winter.

sounds like a key/killswitch wiring problem or TORS system still not fully deleted.

at key/kill wiring harness....be sure no black wire connects to any black/white stripe wire, thats what both switches do, make connection between those wires which grounds out the CDI = no start.

03-06 TORS wiring delete:

must be done exactly as shown cut/connecting the wires as they come out of the CDI under the hood.

I have removed and disconnected the wires from the blaster completely. i pulled the pin out of the ecu.

what ? I'm not following that ?
you have to cut/connect the black and yellow TORS wires coming out of the CDI as shown in the DIY link above
all the wires from the tors were removed completely off of the blaster. the wire or wires that went into the cdi were removed out of the harness.

That doesn't fool the CDI/TORS unit into recognizing that it is still intact and working, so the electronics inside the unit are doing what they were intended to do.....limit revs/no start.

Again......the 2 wires coming out of the unit
MUST be spliced together as shown in the DIY to fool the unit it is working as intended

Only the 88-02 models work by removing everything, 03-06 models must splice those wires !!!!!!!!!

ok looking at my cdi from the top left i have white/red , black/white , black , orange
bottom from left i have green/white , green/yellow, blank(the wire i pulled out) , and black/red wires.
which should i splice together from the blank spot to where?
