i loaned my blaster to a friend and he wrecked it. cracked the a-arms, bent and cracked the wheels and bent and cracked the frame. he hit a tree, he is lucky he isnt dead. it was a 2005. can i use an an 1988-2002 frame or does it have to be a 2003 and newer frame?

Sorry to hear that. You will need to get an 03-06 frame to replace that one.You have hydraulic brakes and the 03-06 has the correct rear mounts to swap the parts directly over. Also the correct tabs for the electronics and front headlight.Although worst case scenario you could use an 88-02 but you will need to do some cutting and welding. You could cut the brackets, tabs, etc off the bent 03 and weld them to the 88-02. The 03-06 is by far the easiest way and most likely not much more money than an 88-02 frame.

Good luck.Keep us posted on your progress.I hope you have your buddy waiting over you hand and foot after his screw up.Glad he is ok though.

Make him pay for everything....

I would, but my arms are $600 so thats an obvious reason to make him....

While you are at it, upgrade!! I:I
Make him pay for the price of everything stock, and use that money towards upgrades :p

The upper A arms on the 03+ has a brake line mount that the non hydro arms didn't have. Not as big of a deal as the rear master cylinder mount or head light and hood mounts but just thought I'd mention it. Are all 4 A arms messed up? I think I have 1 03+ upper that's good. My 04 had one of the uppers replaced with a non hydro upper, I didn't notice the missing brake line mount until I was pulling the hydro's to use on my 01. If you're close enough to pick it up, I would make you a good deal on a red 04 frame.
