help?? please

at high rpm in 5 or 6 gear it sounds like a midget with a hammer is beating on my piston... is this detonation?? i have had two stroke's b4 and have never heard a noise like that.. thats the best i can describe it. it only at high rpm and only in 5 or 6 gear.. please give me any and all info you have on this

i forgot to mention it has been bored out and has a ctracing kit in it. also has pwk carb and trenga exaust.

Did this issue just occur? Did you just buy the CT kit? Did you have the bike for a while and out of the blue it happened? Always give as much info as possible for people to help you out....

most 2 strokes havea knock like sound to them, newbs are easily confused

well this could be piston slap.
pop the head off and check for excess piston to cylinder clearance. and there should be very, very little, see if you can move the piston sideways and stuff

Mine does that to its like a fast pinging or chattering sound mostly when it starts to bog down, if I down shift it goas away I think mine is from using 87 gas with the compression I have

i'll clean the air fiter. but i dont think that would have much to do with it..
im at 170 compression..

you said you are using 100 octane fuel right?
you might need race fuel for that kind of compression

yea ive been told up the fuel and run a colder plug so im gonna try that..

if i was you i'd go ahead and take it to a race shop and have them fix it
