i just bought a 88 blaster for my girlfriend, carb is clean, but after it warms up it wont idle down just stays at very high rpm.slide moves free, does not have tors but did this before i removed the tors also.please help im am lost on this,no leaks aronud carb or head gasket, sprayed carb clean around then and did nothing.it also does not idle, acts as if it cuts out then comes back on at idle rpm.also after i run it the oil level seems to drop,y is this?keep filling it and it keeps dropping

sounds like its time to invest in a leakdown tester. these are rather simple motors but sometimes tracking down a problem can be a pain. is it smoking really bad as well?

yep, sounds like a bad clutch side crank seal,
smokes bad while sucking oil out of the tranny, then idles high while sucking air after the fluid drops down ???
one of slickerthanyou's leak tester willhelp identify where the that, and possibly other airleaks are, the intake area is common too.
i'd replace the stator side crank seal while i was at it.

i wouldn't run it again till you fix it, or a piston/bore job will be in your near future

ok thank u very much.doesnt smoke alot actually.is there anything else needs to b removed with the tors elimination?

just did carb cleaning and replaced the reed gasket as well.i also have a 01 blaster and it lost a little oil after riding too, runs great and not smoking much.on the 88 can i just premix gas without removing pump?

idk,not leakin on ground so gotta b burnin it leakin at the seal.is replacing the crankseals fairly easy?or pain?
