so i just bought a 98 blaster yesterday ,rode it for about 15 minutes today and while going down the road it just craps out. So, i figure i fouled the plug, changed it over, starts right up goes until i hit third craps out again.
No extra plugs , one in the engine still clean but showed some signs of spark.
so i push it home(about 5 miles)
does anybody out there have any suggestions of things to check?
by the way
fuel tank is full-ish
kick start feels like normal
when you try to push start it ,it wants to start but nothing

First of all, Welcome to the forum. second it sounds like you may have a problem with the TORS system. its the thing on top your carb. its completely useless and is known for causing nothing but problems. there is a thread in the DIY section on how to disconect it check that out. hope that helps

yea take of the tors it's useless so take it off an if tats nt de problem you haven done any harm have a look in the diy part an take it off wenever ya can!!!!!

so i read the write up on that tors removal and i was wondering if i were to simply unplug one part of it to test would it still be cancelled out or does it have to be completely removed?
also if this is not my issue what else could it be
i have checked the spark plug ,,,it sparks when unplugged and kicked over
i know that gas is moving freely because when i tip the machine on its rear it leaks gas out like normal
thanks for all your help hopefully its just the tors

alright so i disco'd th tors no start
kicked slow to feel the piston movement ....feels like it goes up and down with no snags
when i am kicking it it pops out of the exhaust if that is anything
any suggestions

needs to be completely removed or that might cause it to not start. and a pop out the exhaust is normal.

could be the stator or the woodruff key both seem to be a problem that come up frequently on here. or mabey even a voltage regulator. and gas pooring out when you tip it up on the back doesn't mean that you have enough flow to keep it fed a high rpms

hey so tomorrow i am gonna tear that tors crap out the rest of the way and check the woodruff key and reeds and clean the carb hope it gets fixed for the weekend
