can someone give me a detailed step by step on how to install an fmf fatty onto my blaster..i bought it off some guy on craigslist...it came with the pipe and silencer and mounting flange....im pretty sure i could just wing it and figure it out as i go, but i just wanna make sure i dont overlook anything

can i reuse the gasket thats already in my old pipe or do i need a new one..and what about sealing it with silicon?

there is only one way it can possibly go in. you need to feed it and bend it around and the flange will end up pokeing in between the frame rails under the gas tank. the bend will be sticking out the left with FMF fatty gold series facing forward.

appreciate all the help guys...but what about the high temp silicon..do i need that or can i get by without it? and also this is my only mod on a stock 2000 ....so what size jet should i move up to...i know theres a lot more to jetting the carb but i cant be bothered with the plug chop, so i just want a safe size jet so i wont run too lean

i dont think the silicon will work too good. just get the springs like djack mentioned and you'll be good to go. you might go up a size or two at the most i would think. a 260 or 270 works good for me with my mods. btw stock is 230 if ya didnt know. I:I

id rather have it too rich than too lean...so you think a 250 would be fine?[/QUOTE

im no jetting expert by no means but with adding only the fatty that might be too much, if ya toss in a high flow filter id say 250 would be good but you will need to do a chop and take all the guessing out. get the 250 and give her hell. you'll will definately not be lean. also do you premix? if not you should the oil injection is sh*tty.

well i was thinkin about takin the airbox lid off too to get the most out of the pipe, so maybe i will stick with the 250...i still have the oil injection on, but i throw a little oil in with the gas anyway just to play it safe

keep you're eye out for a a/m silencer, that will help the pipe out as well.

i was installing my new fmf fatty the other day. it is really easy just line it up and put the bolts in. when i was doing mine the stud on the cylinder head snapped. there is like 1/2" sticking out but it wont come out. im so pissed i wanna try my new pipe! i have heated it, used WD-40, vise grips, channel locks and it just wont come out.

my mounting flange doesnt have a loop on it to hook the spring onto, does anyone have any ideas what i can do about it, or can i get by without the spring
