help!how to loosen crank nuts?

how do i get the nits on the crank loose so i can replace crank seals?a penny doesnt work,and dont have an impact.are they reverse threads?

no they arent reverse threads but they make a tool for holding the flywheel. why doesnt the penny work? i had to stack 2 to get it to work for me when i didnt have the tool. next your going to need the flywheel removal tool and it is reverse threaded, also when you install the tool be sure and pull the washer thats in there out 1st.

ok i only used one.it is damn tight!i have the removal tool also

i have had to heat the nut on occasion, helps break loose the loctite, if they used it. if you heat it be careful not to catch anything on fire or melt the crank seals if they are being reused.

Also back the center bolt out so puller bottoms out in flywheel

i have used an impact for them, i see nothing wrong with that as long is it doesnt get out of control.

I use an impact when possible, but I usually have to do it by hand. The flywheel holding tool is really helpful herehere

I've used a long breaker bar and tap the flex joint with a hammer. Works kinda like an inpact gun.

i have used an impact for them, i see nothing wrong with that as long is it doesnt get out of control.

when i read that for some reason all i could picture was some guy using an impact and it all of sudden it goes nuts kinda like if you loose controll of an automatic weapon lol sorry

Tried every way I could imagine to break mine loose by hand, took hours

Impact took it off in a matter of seconds

People have had good luck with the penny trick though, maybe try two as mentioned?
