I replaced my reed andcant remember how to put the cage back in.does the round metel. Go up or down.
 
got a pic?
im not sure if it matter's is should be the same on both sides?
does one of the metal reed stoppers say top on it?
no it say nothing only has one metal stoper

I'm betting the side without the curved reed stop was the one that was broken ?
both sides should have stops, but will run like it is, and does not matter which way you put it in
 
looks like a mix match one side curved one side flat?
maybe back in yz490 days lol i dont know to tell you the truth look at a parts diagram for that engine/year/i would think they would be the same and not mixed matched research it i guess

the curved stops make the reeds not flutter at high rpm...some say it will even stall at high rpms with the flat stoppers/others say they notice a power increase....i would stick with curved and look for power elsewhere....
 
What type of reed cage and reeds do i have. Cause i bought the wrong type. I want to put vorce three or four in it. But i dont know what im looking for cage wize or reed wise. Dont know if i have to chance cages or use the one i have. Can you help me

looks like boysen dual stage petals on a stock cage.

not sure V-force makes reeds for that old 490 ?
you have to buy the whole cage/petals if they do.
