just finished replacing the two push rods and ball bearing along with the clutch lever that sticks out of the case. i installed the plates and everything by the book and when i start the bike and put it in gear it doesnt move. I feel it go into gear. Also, ive tried adjusting the clutch but when i align the lever and the mark on the case and tighten the pushrod it pushed the lever back to the same place. Do i need new springs? new plates? new friction disks? any help is appriciated

When you had the side cover off, pull the clutch in. You should be able to spin the inner clutch part within the outer, if not something might not be in order? When you tighten the pushrod did you keep a philips on it to stop from turning? Do you think its slipping or not releasing? The book also says soak all new plates and friction in oil. Mine wouldnt release because of this.

yes, the plates need to be soaked for a few hours in oil before installation.
also, did you align the dots on the boss and the pressure plate?
