HELP!!!!!! BLASTER HAS A TICK SOUND

So my blaster has a ticking sound coming from the engine.
it never had a tick in till i took of the exhaust off to paint it, and put a new spark plug in and put the motion pro tors elimination kit on. Its really loud i can hear it over the engine and i can hear it good over 20 yards away. I cant find any lose bolts on it at all. It is a 99 blaster and it has about 19 hours on it.

It ticks like this

is it leaking out the exhaust flange now ?
exhaust leaks can sound like ticks, or valves tapping on 4 strokes

BStupid question I know, but did you use the correct reach spark plug.

By the way you are not doing that engine any favours running without an air filter and with a loose carb cap.

Not only will the air fuel mixture be very lean some crap may get sucked in ypthe carb.

When i took the exhaust off i put a new exhaust gasket that goes on the pipe and cylinder head. Also i put a new one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLUE-YAMAHA...ash=item1c3634c934:g:ukkAAMXQ74JTTuUJ&vxp=mtr Exhaust thing because it had a hole in it and leaked.

Also i can not see any smoke coming out of the gaskets
