i recently got a 96 blaster. the carb on it is shot. i ordered a carb rebuild for it today and one of the guys i work with also gave my a brand new banshee carb for free! Can i use this carb or will i be better off getting my stock carb rebuilt? im low in money(married) so i vannot get another carb for awhile.

thanks for any help

Thanks! i also have a warrior parts bike and was wondering if the front spindles and brakes will work on a blaster. and if the rear axle and hubs will work? and aother newbie stuff

If your blaster is stock and you don't want to spend a lot of money, i would keep the stock carb. changing to a different carb usually has more involved than just slapping it on. it may require a new throttle cable, manifold, and jets depending on the size of the carb etc.

i should have said this the bike came with a kn filter no airbox lid complete dg exhaust. it starving for fuel right now. if i cover the box it starts to rev much better. i really wanted to know if thae banshee carb would work with some jetting... i work at a motorcycle shop so i can get parts for cheap

any idea where to start? main jet only? will i have to change the pilot jet as well? the carb seems pretty big to be only half of the fuel system for a shee.
will the shee carb be better than a tuned stock?

if i get the original carb rebuilt what main jet should i run for what is done w/ the bike?

thanks man! you all were very helpful and ill give the main jet a try.

what do you all think of the DG complete exhaust system. i"ve heard it more restrictive than stock and is junk.

i do plan on beefing the blaster up in the future but am just trying to get it to pull it own weight around for now.

again thank to everyone that helped

i have no idea if what i'm about to type is true or not because i have never worked on/rode a banshee. But i do know that they have 2 cylinders, and 350 cc's approx. so with twice the carbs and less than twice the displacement wouldn't the banshee carb be smaller than the blasty one, assuming both are oem? just my two cents
