Hi there! I've been looking at this forum for about 3 days. I'm debating on buying my first quad, and thought id register and ask your opinion.

I'm kinda looking for a project. I found a good deal on a 03 Blaster. The guy want's $1400 for it. It seems to be in very good shape, and says its still on its first tank of injector fluid. Here's a pic...

So, I'm a father of 2 kids and want to get the family into riding. I had a Honda 4 stroke trail bike and loved it. But I don't think I can get the wife to ride on 2 wheels. lol

So the questions...

1. Are these quads too small for a 5' 8" 185lb person?

2. Should I look for something cheaper? I don't have loads of money to spend. I would like to put some different tires and wheels on it, maybe widen it a little. I might even want to tear it down to the frame and paint it and put it back together. So would a cheaper quad be better for this. Maybe older?

3. Should I look for something completely different. Most of where I can ride will be trails / forest roads. How do these things do on areas like this.

Thanks guys. :)

well the blaster is the same from 88 to 03 it all depends on the previous owner ive seen some 88's that id buy over some 04's
03+ you get the hydro brake's and the hoods diffrent.

i though blaster would be abith small for me when i was looking on it, but when i got it i got suprised and i think it fits pretty good, i am 188 cm tall

if you get offset rims, and a nice set of flat top tires, its much more stable and if you find it being to short, extend the swinger.
other wise its a perfect trail machine.
thats all mine is used for.

welcom to the forum bro, i think its a perfect quad to get the family into riding with. great prower but now to much for a begginer, also its eays to control therfor being a great learing quad as well. im 67" at 195lbs and its runs great with me(my wifes is stock). it also carts here around just fine as well. with my son on it with me now probs either. my wifes also is used just for trails and never had a prob with it
