heel guards

i have an '88 blaster that i just picked up some heel guards for. installing them i noticed that the foot pegs are about 1/2" short and the bolts holding the pegs to the frame are in the way of the guards also. did 1988's not originally have these because there are no tabs on the frame to bolt them on either.

88 and 89 did not come with heel guards. When they added heel guards in 90 they extended the pegs too

haha, That explains why mine don't fit up. Although I do have a couple taps of my frame for something.
