So I got this blaster and there's no headlight or tail light. I removed the tors system and ripped into the harness removing everything and soldering all those ground and other crimp connections. I left the green and the yellow wires alone so i can hook up a headlight but while rewiring I realized there's to rectifier on the bike so now I need a AC headlight. Is that correct or can I use a DC tractor headlight or something similar?

thanks,
John

Incandescent bulbs are neither "AC" or "DC". They are only partial dead shorts to an electrical system which produce a lot of heat and some light.

The blaster electrical system uses AC to make things easier. The lighting coil produces 55watts at ~35 VAC at maximum RPM. The output from that system is "T'd" into the voltage regulator which acts like a dead short to the system for anything over 14VAC. The balance of the system operates on anything from 5VAC (low idle) to 14VAC (from about 2,000rpm up to maximum RPM.

You also need to correctly balance the stator output to the load. If you don't you'll overpower whatever is connected to it and blow components. You need a headlight and tailight in "T" to the voltage regulator.
