So ive been lurking around this wonderful website for the last couple of weeks and finally purchased by first quad over the weekend. It's a great little 95 Blaster with a few different mods but of course now I have a TON more to do I:I My first question is it has a FMF fatty exhaust systems that appears to be in good shape but the previous owner painted it with silver header paint and now it's chipped up and not very attractive. I have an abundence of header wrap I aquired from work, I wondered if anyone had ever wrapped one of these systems in tape and if so how did it work out. Thanks in advance for the help and oh yeah pictures soon to come!

Some great suggestions! What would you guy's use to strip the old paint off? Also what is a good product to polish it with? Thanks for all the quick answers!

um i never polished my pipe before, but there is this stuff called simi-chrome. you can find it at any auto parts store. it comes in a little tube, its expensive, but it works really really well.

mothers is the best i have ever used, i have an 02 skidoo mxz 800 sled and i used mothers on the tunnel, it worked so well that the tunnel on this sled actualy looks like it is chrome plated now..lol..mothers is what i suggest. as for paint remover just take your drill or d.a with a very fine grit sand paper on it, then work your way to steel woole.whatever doesnt scratch the hell out of it.....the mothers polish will take most of the fine scratches out of it

mothers won't work very well on the steel expansion chamber, works good on the aluminum silencers though

electric motor cleaner degreaser takes paint off like its nothing i stripped the paint off my blaster with it when i got it an it only took like 2 days to do my whole body there was like 4 difrent coats of paint on there
