ok i have a question .. the threads on my jug that hold the head stud are stripped the guy be for me used a hellycoil and when i took the head off it came out and it wasn't reuse able .. so i was thinking can i do this
cause i cant see buying the hellycoil kit for like 40bucks or w/e it costs when i am only going to need it 1 time and i am trying to get a way cheap lol .. cause i don't want to run it again the way it is cause i blew a head gasket last time and i don't want it to warp any thing, and since i have the motor apart for new rings i mite as well get it out of the way ...
any 1 have any cheap ideas to get it fixed :)??..

ok .. i did the rebuild with out fixing the head stud and i went to the mountains for a week and the head gasket started leaking the day we were leaving so i just left it .. and its like popping when i am riding and just give it some gas and when the rpms are coming down it will pope like it sounds like the plug is fouling or some thing .. i herd that jb weld stick is good i was thinking of trying that out on the stripped head bolt..

dude what a coincidence. after doing my bottom end job and putting her back together, i got to the head and one bolt wasnt tightening, it just kept going, i new it was pulling through and check it on the jug. pulled out a thread and a half so i just left it. it stay tight enough i think but i might do a helicoil kit. i can do it for free, my dad can just get it from his shop. but i dont even know how to do it. so for now, i left it, it didnt pull out much, but do you guys think i need to helicoil it? im not doing that stupid thread repair technique, i do it right or i dont do it at all.

edit: oh i also noticed, 1 other head bolt was helicoiled. makes sence, old ass jugs eventually gota give out. so its happened before and he fixed it and it looks perfect. no other problems with that helicoil job so im going to just do that when i put my new piston in.

yeah i would do the helly coil and just be done with it lol .. the bolt thats messed up on mine was the same way and when i took off to do the rebuild and the coil came out with the stud.. and i dont feel like spending like 35bucks on a kit when i can buy like a 5doller toob of jb weld stick and be done with it lol .. and i plan to get another jug soon cause if i seize my motor i cant get it bored any more, lol so it just need to hold for a little bit lol ..

i have seen many head bolts script on other atvs and dirtbikes before, 4 head bolts scripted out on my blaster so i heli coiled them back in. jb weld stick will not keep it in place so i wouldn't reccoment jb welding a stud in. i mean what happens if u needed to get it out??? so just helicoil it back in

ehh maybe .. i am going to make new threads with the jb weld stick its like puddy its worth a try if it don't work i can just re drill and tap it for the helly coil ..

ok, well i stoped a place by my house they had just the coils they didnt have the whole kit with the drill bit and the tap , does any 1 have the drill bit and tap they would sell ?..
