head is leaking!

ok i haven't been on in a while thats because my blaster has been down all summer got frustrated and put it away. now the snow is coming and i might wanna get a couple rides out of it....
i am leaking compression out of the front of the head, i know this because you can actually feels the air coming out if you put your hand there. i had put in a new gasket, used new nuts and washers from yamaha. The only thing i can think of is that maybe the nuts came loose just a lil.... do you guys ussually use locktight on these head bolts, if so red or blue.

and if this doesn't solve the problem any other solutions would help..

your studs could be stretched letting the nuts loosen...

did you retorque the head after a few heat cycles?

you could deck your cylinder a little to make er flat and also the head put yur gasket in, the torque the bolts, break in, torque bolts AGAIN and you should be good. you can deck the stuff yur self too all you do is get flat glass and put some high grit sand paper on her and do figure 8s, but for the cylinder you have to take the studs out lol, oh and rubbing compound with like sand on the glass works good too

see maybe thats the problem i would work on it tighten everything and then go ride out, never retorqing after a lil bit..... No locktight?

every fastener stretches as its tightened down.



check the nut torque first

and over torquing and i dont locktite the heads and cylinder bolts to nething i own

The problem is if you locktight them you may spin the studs when you remove the nuts
