head gasket

Well if that's the case, you don't need any gasket sealer at all. Simply take your head gasket and anneal the copper to soften it, lap the head mating surface to make sure it's flat, and reassemble.

No I'm not drunk high or playing joke you can get roll of gasket maker and just make an outline of the old head gasket

On a budget bro

Yeah haha I know where you stand on that. But once you get to saving up you get the good stuff. See the list of quad mods in my signature? That was all done on a budget. $3500 into a motor, close to $1000 into the wheels and tires, $400 in plastics, and I'm always replacing parts. On a budget. It just gets to costing you. So a $15 head gasket compared to a $200 rebuild when a bad one leaks is a good deal.

Do you still have the old head gasket? You can reuse it IF you anneal it.

Ken O to the rescue!

Annealing only softens the copper, it does nor reclaim the raised section of the gasket which is important in the sealing process.

IMHO Re use of head gaskets should only be used in extreme circumstances.:)

Well apparently the original poster is extremely poor! LMAO! I:I

I've reused head gaskets with fine results. Afterall, the purpose of the headgasket is to seal the compression in. Anyway that it does that is OK in my book, including annealing it but not reraising the ridges.

I too have re used head gaskets before, but only with a product called "Halomar", this product coats the surface with a special sealing film.

I would never entertain using anything but a new gasket on any fresh rebuilds, mine or a customers.

$15 is a pretty good insurance of not having any nasty surprizes.

I have tried renealing too watching kens video but i didnt feel comfortable doing so and ended up replaceing it anyways, not saying it don't work but I think your better off throwing a new one on if you have the extra couple bucks.
