Hawk VS Rabbit

Had a hawk take a young Rabbit for breakfast the other morning in my neighbors yard. What I found interesting is it left the hind legs untouched (as most of you hunters know this is where most meat is on a rabbit). Just ate all the guts and organs except the intestines. Was pretty cool to see a bird of prey so close. Going to have to keep an eye on my kids Chihuahuas.

i think the guts are where the good nutrients are. probably doesn't want to eat poo hence leaving the intestines, lol.

hawks are badass though. when i used to bush hog our fields it was nothing for them to swoop down in front of the tractor to pick up snakes or rats. never seen that kind of carnage though that you witnessed. they usually fly off with their meal. that one looks to be good sized as well.

btw, they will not hesitate to snatch up a taco bell dog lunch.
