I went riding yesterday for the first time after buying an 01 Blaster after every nut and bolt was stripped on the bike and got it all back together and rode it all day yesyerday but went to go riding today it would not start..It is getting fuel and took plug out and cleaned it but was just going through the wiring and noticed the orange wire coming from the coil under the seat and traced it up to the front..all the connections were corroded and pulled the orange wire apart and cleaned it up was covered with white powder..Will when I plugged it back to gether something on the bike popped real loud scared the hell out of me..I didnt physically smell anything but im assuming its the coil or something..Anyone have any suggestions greatly appreciate it..Thanks Kurt

Ive never taken my blaster electricals apart, but i know on most quads, there is some sort of fuse in the wiring system. Chances are while you were f*cking around with the wires it shorted it out and the fuse blew. find the fuse, check it, replace it if need be. No problamo

Man I hope its something like that..I dont feel like having to buy a flywheel puller and get involved just yet..I will check it out thanks Kurt

Anybody ever have a problem popping the stator? Trying to find out without having to pay a lot to have someone diagnose it..Thanks for any help Kurt

theres no way of shorting anything. it doesnt have a battery. theres never power going through the system unless someones kicking it over.

am i right? ... so no idea what this poping noise was. check all the wires and connections for burnt marks.

but unless you had a car charger hooked up to the frame, i dont think theres anyway to short anything.

theres no fuse. there is NO electricity flowing until you kick it. you have the stator coil, surrounded by a magnet, and when you kick it, it creates electricity therefore creating a spark. like 89 said look for burnt marks on the wires. it could possiblely be your cdi unit, or you coil. you may have to take the stator of to check it out

Thanks for all the help..It ended up being the ground wire on the coil pack under the seat had a sh*tty connection..I cleaned it all up put it back together and fired right up first kick..I knew it had to be something stupid like that..Thanks again Kurt
