I just got a blaster last week. The guy said it has a 260 big bore kit made by vertex. But I can't find a rebuild kit for that anywhere.. Can anyone help me out ? Thanks

I've never heard of a 260 kit. 240 kit, yes, but not a 260. I could be totally wrong, but I'd say that the guy has no idea what he's talking about and was just trying to talk it up. Can you post pics of the cylinder? I'd be willing to bet he meant that he bored it .060 over (60 over) and threw a Vertex piston in.... meaning you have a stock blaster running at 204cc

Sorry if this is a dumb question.? Never owned or even rode a two stroke before..
But he said it was large piston + longer stroke. And it was bored 60mm over.. Thanks to the ones tryin to help.

Do you mean the inside of the cylinder? Or just a side shot of my engine?

Not a dumb question, when you buy something used like this you never know what your going to get.
Most of the time the seller dont know what they are selling!

Is the motor bad, and time for a rebuild?

Your going to have to open the motor up to see what size, and kind of piston is in there.

for a longer stroke crank, it will either use a spacer plate between the cylinder and bottom end to accomodate that, or the porting and head reworked to match.
if you see no spacer plate ?
pictures of the intake ports and cylinder head will help us determine if it's been done.

the piston should have numbers on top to determine what bore it is actually on, or the bore can be measured.

If you have the top end off, just send a pic of the top of the piston. As awk said, we can determine the bore size by the piston.

If the top end isn't off, just take a pic of the cylinder so we can attempt to determine if it's stock or a big bore kit.

Its pretty dirty..

Its pretty dirty..

in my opinion, that wet and crusted oil collection around the reeds/intake area shows a leak, and fuel/oil is getting out there and collecting dirt.
thats blocking our veiw of the "Y1" in that area to identify a stock size cylinder.

also, if it's leaking out, it's more than likely sucking air in, and may be why it went boom :(
i suggest removing the intake/reeds, (or during the rebuild) and use a new gasket and some copper rtv or casebond to reseal.
then a leakdown test to insure it has indeed sealed completely.

that is a awesome hose clamp, maybe get and origional one without the sharp ridges like those kind.. it says 195cc i believe......clean it up

That's definitely a stock cylinder. I'm guessing its bored .060 over and that you'll find a vertex piston inside that cylinder.

I'm also saying that if the guy who sold it to you said it was a 260...he has no idea what he sold you and it would be a good idea to check over EVERYTHING and do the leak test. I would imagine there are some other issues with your "260" blaster...
