Well, i got this blaster on trade with some cash for a sled. I got it and it ran good, However about a week after i got it, it started leaking fluid from the transmission. Well it got low and i rode it home from work and the clutch was working fine, well i went to to start it the day after and the lever had no pressure. Refilled the oil, and tried riding it to free it up didnt fix the problem. I figure its the the ball bearing that has a tendency to weld itself inside the shaft.

Anyways, i was out taking it for a ride today just down my drive way trying to empty out the gas from the tank, and i was down shifting and coming to a really slow speed and the trans or something in the case starting grinding bad and i killed it right away. This is what im really worried about, im gonna try and pull the cylinder tommorrow, but im getting ready to move cross country to school so i wont have a lot of time and id rather be riding than wrenching on it.

Thanks for the help,
Dakota

Well, you seem to know a little bit about things. I think you answered your own question.

you gonna have to tear it down and see what damage you got. and replace.

that grinding could be a bad gear, a broken piston. sounds like you had bad crank seals also.

I mean you knew it was leaking trans fluid, gasket ? cracked case ? should have torn into it, instead of riding it and causing more damage.

I bet you gonna have to put a few hundred into that motor now.

Lol. Thats funny. (ALL MY NEGATIVE POSTS).:o

Just stating the likely truth here. A few hundred is not bad. could be more.:p:p

Sporty

Well it's true hahaha! Your last 2 posts I've seen have been "You probably blew your motor." and "Your probably going to need a few hundred into your motor." Jeez man calm down! Could be a $50 bearing, or it could be a $3 ball and a $7 shaft for the clutch. Never know until it's apart.

I appreciate the truth, to be honest it runs like a champ. Well it did before this happened. However once I noticed it was low I quickly added some more fluid to the trans. It seemed like a leaky gasket, so I figured keep an eye on the fluid levels and add more as needed. But this happened with full fluid, and while it was running great.

98blasterboy: I sure do hope it's something easy and relatively cheap. So far I have loved this quad, and I hope to keep it.

Ya, that stuff sucks. so keep us posted on what ya find out.

and if I came across all negative. sorry pal. thats just how I talk.
