Hello All!
Great forum you have here first off!
I bought a blaster a few days ago with all intentions of repairing the top end doing a few things and giving it to my son to ride for his first 4 wheeler as his birthday is coming up the 23rd of May.
I got 2 additional frames with the purchase and its a good thing as I was scuffing the fresh red krylon paint to paint the frame silver i noticed the frame was badly bent so it has turned into a full frame change....say la vee.
I'm an old school mechanic and although never owning one I find it a very simple machine. I have read many of the topics listed here and when I have more time will be frequenting the forum for more reading! (Usually after my gf crashes out) I found out the hard way that although it came with a big box of parts I am missing some high dollar parts, mainly all the rear brake system, all I have is the foot lever which brings me to the conclusion I should build my own hydro brake system or purchase one of those GSXR kits...I think I know what needs to happen here as this bike is for my soon to be 12 yr old and I want him to have GOOD brakes, so if they are proven and work well $180.00 or whatever is not a problem.
Anyway I will be uploading some build pics at some point and want to say thanks for such a great forum!
