got the bike going finaly but still have a couple issues. first thing is what i got done. when i got the bike it had a 240 kit supposably. 32 mm mikuni carb and uni air filter. it was running like sh*t so i took it to someone to fix it. originally i just weanted the stock carb back on it and put the airbox back in. then it turned into getting the top end done. listen to this, this bike had a 73 mm piston in it. the guy told me it was from a banshee when he ran the numbers off the piston. so i had to buy a new jug and piston. any way the prob im having now is the bike has no bottom end. its good on top but it is not giving a good throttle response. the srew on the air box side of the carb is all the way in and it gets to high of an idle when i back it out. should i be re jetting this carb which i thought the guy would have done. what do you guys think.

that just means that jug had been bored over, a big bore kit is 72mm. sounds like its too lean on the pilot, you need a bigger pilot jet

the bike is lean on the pilot jet - and u lose me too so u bought a new jug and pistion or is it still they old jug just bored. bc if its a big bore and u are running a stock carb thats part of the prob. not enough gas

do u know what size u have in there and is it stock carb??

the jug that was on it couldnt be bored it was a 240 big bore and was just shot so i got a stock jug and wiseco piston off ebay and put that on and then put the stock carb back on the new jug is .20 over and i got a dg exhaust and k n air filter

i would just pull the pilot jet get the # off of it it sould be in the range of like a 32-37.5ish range when u check let me know thanks and i will see if i can help

alright i dont know if i can get to it till thursday but there is also one thing im gonna try. the guy who out my bike together didnt put a hose clamp on the carb where the airbox runs in so im gonna seal that and see if it helps

i don't think that's gonna help you out too much. just make sure there are no air leaks, and other than that i agree that the pilot needs to be bigger

air leaks could cause this to so just check that ever things torqed good and if u have to u can spray carb cleaner around the reed cage gaskets when its running and if it idels up than more than likely found your leaky gasket where u sprayed it. and if u dont mind me ask n what was trashed about the big bore jug??

it was a 240 but then it was bored over twice. it was really scraped up and i dont have the exhaust to be running it the bike was still running with it but it was making some pinking noise in the top end. the bike runs alot better now with the stock jug back on. oh and the 240 kit that was on there was the cheap one. the guy who put it on just re sleaved the stock jug instead of getting the vitos kit
