all stock except the back rims are 8"s and the tires are holeshot 18x10 or 11"s or something...

never rode a clutch bike before. but apparently the guy didn't really know how ride either he said he doesn't know how people ride these and said he never rode it higher than 3rd gear. he had it parked in like 3rd r something as when I started it up, I figure just keep going down and it should be 1st but I think I didn't do it right as I found out later (took me like 10 tries to get it mobile and riding) I was in 3rd so I had to give it alot of gas to go and I was sketch as I never rode a real bike before and knew from the feel/sound it had big balls lol. anyway, rode it around and eventually found it had a shift lite that says when you're in neutral so 1st is below that obviously and after that I had no probs starting out lol. wish it had reverse that would've been nice... but overall I like it. WAAAY more power than I have ability to use as a rider... but then again it felt like it had too much death wobble or shimmy to it or something so once I figure that out (don't think they're supposed to do that, on street and offroad it did it) I will be able to ride it alot faster top speed. eventually I'll get better. 1st mods I intend to do is, steering stabilizer, antivibe steering stem or the little box anti vibe thing that attaches to the stem. hope to get a bumper and grab bar as both are buss. pull the spark arrestor put a uni in and get a yoshimura cherry bomb engine plug and play chip :D supposed to add like 7hp according to guys on the atv forum and really wake the quad up. but in all honesty it has plenty more power than I need til I get the shimmy thing under control.. figure springs made for a small little 135lb f*cker would help too LOL oh, maybe nerfs but I think that's more for jumping which I don't really plan to do for a while til I learn to ride it better... can't WAIT to get to ride it again tho I:I

nice man i just got mine saturday and love it haha mine has a cherry bomb and the spark arrestor out and i just ordered nerf bars haha and these things are pretty much built for a track because i can keep up with my friend on his highly modded trx

check your tie rods, wheel bearings and ball joints. something may just be worn out causing the shimmy.

looks like a really nice quad, i take it its fuel injected if you're talking about putting in a chip?

all those ltr450s are fuel injected. my buddy has one and its got exhaust a chip and intake and that thing screams. they got so much balls in all the gears

mine rides like sh*t lol. shimmys and shakes. the front bumper is smashed as you can see so there could be some damage to the front end I suppose. but I think the bumper is aluminum so maybe not. I was figuring worst case scenario I can get a long travel setup and it will replace the stock arms and tie rod and shouldn't have any shimmy after that... basically feels like I'm riding rutty terrain on the street almost lol like death/speed wobble but happens in like 3rd gear so I'm not going too fast.

atvracer7 - airbox lid is removed already and it's loud so I think the baffle is out of the exhaust, where would I look to see if it has a cherry bomb already installed?

I think the LTR's are the best looking 450's. So you went from an LT80 to a LTR450?

the LT80 was supposed to be for my kid and I WAS gonna get me a blaster but my "buddy" wanted 900 for his, and would never answer his phone so I could get a test ride so I picked this up from someone off CL for 2 grand... figured it was a better deal anyway pending I can get the driving smoother I will have no problems riding it in 5th gear LOL

well, found part of the problem, the front left wheel is bent a little maybe like a 1/4" up and down not side to side kinda weird. the right side a little movement but not much. I'll check the axle later...

CCP makes an affordable rotary style steering stabalizer comparable to a Precision 5. It has less adjustments than the P5, but it's less than half the price. Don't bother with a stick style damper. If you have money to spend on it, get a good pipe (Dasa, Yosh, HMF) a fuel controller (power commander, yosh pim) and a good intake and until you get good on it, you'll have all the power you could want. I wouldn't spend the money on a LT kit unless your going for some big air. The stock shocks are better than most oem shocks and as good as some aftermarket setups when dialed in correctly. If yours is an 06 or 07, the springs stock are set for a 220 lb rider. Find a suspension guy to set them up for you and you'll see a world of difference. As for your front end issue, check tie rods and ball joints for play, or a bent a-arm. I find it hard to believe that a rim that's bent bad enough to cause the quad to wobble in dirt would still hold air.

I have the CCP stabilizer... I love it !

Overfilling the oil by 200ml helps keep the tranny whine to a minimum, and these things like to lose 3rd gear. Start reading up at LTR450HQ.com

06-07 aren't as bad as 08+ as far as 3rd gear goes. Shift pin bracket should prevent most problems with the 06 tranny.
