I got the Vito's 240 kit and a 36mm carb, fmf pipe extended swing arm, what should I do next for more hp ?

Port that Vito's!
Vito's normally have a very poor finish in the casting of the ports.
The exhaust is the main factor on a 2-stroke, everything else should be matched to the pipe's powerband....

What pipe should I get, and who can port the head for me??

call anytime during regular business hours east coast time

you can run the FMF pipe with a 240, just be sure to tell ken that during your talk about the porting.
but that 39mm is too big for anything less than a full drag engine IMO.
I'd go 34mm with an FMF, or 36mm with a right bend or toomey pipe.

Just sent my head to KOR

wise choice ! you'lll be very pleased with that :)

this 39 mm carb is working great, blaster is screaming with it......................... only has around 2hrs of run time and the piston is already looking Hurt

what jetting was used ?
how did you confirm it was correct ?
was it leakdown tested ?

again, that 39mm carb is too big for an unported 240 with FMF pipe.
with your mods, it most likely wasn't pulling enuf air velocity thru that big of carb for any size jet to deliver enuf fuel, and it may do the same thing again when you get it back.
even the mack daddy LA Sleeve 240 cylinder with it's far better porting and huge boysen ports only recommends a 36-38mm carb, and it flows way more than a vito's 240.
a 34 - 36mm carb would better suit that cylinder, even with porting.

Awesome thanks for the info, I will check out some carbs next!

Ok I just measured my carb, I thought I had a 39mm, it measures 35.8 so it's a 36,

thats great :)
whats your elevation, and temps ?
jetting ?...... float height, pilot jet, needle # (letters) and clip position, and main jet ?

Elevation 500 above,, ce L needle,, needle clip 2nd from bottom,, main jet 150
36 mm keihn cpw

that should be really close Josh.
although, most info on these 34-36 keihin carbs comes from higher flowing pipes than an FMF, so you'll need to plug chop everyting to verify it.

here's my thoughts...

pilot # ?
should be 48/50 with airscrew producing high idle in the 1-2 turns out range.

posssibly over rich needle setting covering too lean of main jet, and may be where your piston damage came from ?

others at lower elev's report the CEL needle working, I'd be tempted to put the clip in the middle and plug chop 1/2 - 3/4 throttle to verify that needle settings.

150 main may be a little small, more like 152-158 range, start large and work down with plug chops to confirm.

I forgot to evenLook at pilot #, what pipe would you recommend? When I get my head back I will run some plug chops, and what are your thoughts on timing advancing? I appreciate all you help!

Timing advance brings on the power at a lower rev.

For your carb size you require a right bend pipe, they work well with large carbs as they favour the top end power.

Got a toomey today on e-bay, 212$ hopefully that will work til I find a right bend, head still at KOR , waiting on Vito's piston, out of stock for another month, so I'm gonna get my flywheel lightened, and do the 4degree timing advance shave on the stator plate,

If Ken is re chambering the head it may pay to not do the timing advance mod.

You carb will certainly wake up the top end of the Toomey, do not forget to jet for the pipe.
