Corinth, Ms
went to change my trans oil today and the drain plug on the bottom of engine, the head is stripped on it and i was wondering how i might could get that off...kinda a dumb question i guess but i tried a few different things and nothing even budged it really...also it may be just me but it seems like the engine is making a knocking sound on the top portion...topend was just rebuilt tho...any info or help or opinions would be greatly appreciated

Use a Dremel tool (every man should have one) or an angle grinder with a cut off wheel and cut a slot in it to get a wide blade flat head screw driver to fit it.
If you need lock a pair of vice grips/pliers/channel locks on the end of the screwdriver to help get some leverage to loosen it.

Why was it rebuilt, what mods are done and what is your jetting?

Was a leak down test performed after rebuild?

What break in proceedure was done?

Was the head and jug re tightened after break in?

oorrr just take a pair of vise grips and tightin them down pre tight on the oil plug and turn it out ..

its bored .40 over

has a vitos kit the guy said.

dg pipe

uni air filter

air box lid off

as far as jetting...i assume stock

guy i bought it from said the topend has less than 20 hrs on it since the rebuild was done...it belonged to his lil boy and his wife made him get rid of it bc it was too fast for the lil boy or at least thas what he and she both said

also he said he has always run nothing but yamalube through it at a ratio of 40:1...so far since i have had it ive just changed the tranny oil, tightened the chain, put a new spark plug in it, cleaned the air filter and thas it...

ive never had a two stroke...ive always had nothing but fourstrokes and still have two right now so im not used to the sound of one...it may be perfectly normal for all i know..i may be making something out of nothing at all.. i really wouldnt know

Even with a DG pipe and the lid off the stock #230 main jet is way too small.

The knocking you are hearing is possibly detonation caused by a lean fuel mix. A very costly dilemma.

Do a compression test to see if any damage has been done to the top end.

Up the main to at least a #260 - #270 and do a plug chop.

The oil ratio for a 200cc motor should be no less than 32:1.

What does the plug look like right now? Air cooled 2s are pretty "busy" sounding :o , especially if you're not used to it. Might check that it has all the rubber plugs inbetween the fins. Just had another newbee post a vid of what he thought was noisy and consenses was normal. Maybe try find it (search). Would be good idea to pull carb, check what the jetting is. While you are that far might consider cleaning it as preventive maintenance. Turn air screw clockwise counting number of turns until LIGHTLY seated. Pull pilot jet also. Be sure to write all the numbers down for future reference.

Be sure to get back with what you find so someone can help. I:I
