I'm looking to get a 4x4 utility quad to play in the mud with. Here is what i'm looking for. I got around $3500 to $4000 to spend. In that price range I'm findind 03 and 04 Polaris Sportsman 600 and 700's, Honda Formans and Ranchers from all years from 01 to 05. Kawasaki Parerie's and 1 Brute Force 650. some yamaha's but nothing big like a 660 Grizzly. I like the Honda's b/c they don't use a belt driven transmission but they also don't have front diff locks either like everyone else does. Right now I'm leaning twards a 03 Sportsman 700 b/c I'm one of the few ppl that don't have anything against a Polaris. I own a Traillboss and my wife loves it. I would really like to get a Grizzly 660 or the Brute Force but things don't seem to be working out on them. I open to anything really I just want something that's going to ride good and get threw the mud good. So give me your input on what you have had exrerance with..

my honda sucks.... lots of probs with it... but you dont always need that big power...a grizzly 350 would be just fine... it depends if you wannan like take it in a lake! but those sportsman's are pretty good....

Where we ride at you need something kinda big to pull the little ones out LOL... I got a couple of buddies that have Honda 350 ranchers and that 350 motor just don't have enough power to be in 4x4 really well. 2x4 is ok but the 4x4 really brings it down. I also want it to do a little work with so that's why I want a bigger one.

iv had a 2005 400 kodiak with 26" mudbugs, that was one of my faviourite quads, my buddy has a 09 kodiak 450 also an excellant machine, no problems.
my dad had a 400 arctic cat it was alright a little under powered and quite heavy. otherwise good machine.
he now owns a kingquad 750 and loves it, not a single problem and has the diff lock

u shuld get the 700 arctic cat diesel that thing looks tank, but the guy who owns the land i hunt on lets me ride his kodiak 450 n i love it, its a monster but dont ride it on the pavement( i flipped it) lol

ive got a kodiak 400 with big a/m tires. not sure what size or kind. 10 years without a tuneup and its still runnin strong. it gets thru absolutly everything. its heavy but not nearly as heavy as those 600's and 700's. my neighbour has a can am 600 and when i sit on the back it wheelies!! its got mad power. and he also has a can am 400 and its a very smooth ride.

I have a 2007 Suzuki Eiger. Its a 400 with 2wd/4wd. Ive had it since January and its a freakin tank. Gets thru everything, even on stock Maxxis all around. I have a Warn 2500 on it and have only needed it twice. Amazing bike, drifts good too.

doesnt get much more reliable then my dads good ol 03 yamy kodiak 450 ultramatic. never had any issues with it. like non. starts in the dead of winter, always runs nice, just be nice and change her oil and she asks nothing in return. not the fastest but enough to get you through so much sh*t, its a tank with the 4x4 w/ diff lock.

my buddy has 2 arctic cat 400 4x4 with diff locks an we get tthrough just bout everthing. he weights 400lbs an im only 175 but he can get throught some stuff my light asss cant getthrough but then yet i can get through stuff he cant. lol but over all i love his 2 4x4s havent had a problem et. even with his weight he hasnt blown a shock yet.
