I have a stock 96 blaster with a stiff front suspension. At higher speeds its really noticeable. It will beat you up if you try to wrestle with it. the shocks are set in the middle so I have 2 settings either way. I have 400ex front shocks I would like to put on it but I can't spend the money for the widening kit or a-arms. I'm looking at moving the lower shock mounts closer to the wheel giving me enough room to put them on. would that work as long as I clear my upper a-arms?

I really don't think you have enough room to clear the top a arm. Those 400ex shocks are pretty damn long.
Save up some $'s.. Good used dual rate Works shocks can be found for about $200-$250..

i think the front lowering kit on fleabay would allow u to run a longer shock in the front....it relocates the front mounts out closer to th wheels, just like u want to do

im not to sure how that will ride. but i know if you want nice suspension...buy shocks valved for your weight, riding style, and arm. elkas are around 400. and you can get a used set of works or any aftermarket shock for 100-250. i bought dual rate works with rezzies for my banshee for 250. i got lucky and they ride good. the guy didnt put the valve settings in the auction...

plus GT thunder rebuilds shocks. if you find a beat up set for cheap, they can rebuild them and set them, up for you.

I'll second this post.Get the right a-arms a nice set of shocks valved for your weight and it will be the way to go.If you are looking to save some money for now then get a set of banshee shocks as they are a direct bolt on and are alot better then the stock blaster shocks, however not even in the race compared to works, elkas, etc.

or for cheap fix now u can always soften up the front buy turnin the thinger with the notches the deeper the notch softer the suspension wen u get it stock its on the stiffest

I'm on a tight budget so I ended up fabing additions to the top mounts for the 400ex shocks out of some scrap steel. Ill bolt them up tomorrow and post pics.
