im thinking about buying a 12 tooth sprocket. what would i have to do to the quad upon changing the sprocket
what if i went with a 14 tooth sprocket would i have to change the tire size. would i have to if i went with a 12?you'll have to pull the stator cover to get to it, and pull the chain off, you may have to readjust the chain when you put it back together
i have the stock rear tires now (21x10x8) the tires that i have thought of buying are 18x10x8. do you think i should go with the 12t just because its alot smaller tire?the only thing that you'll HAVE to change is the length of the chain, or you maybe able to get away with just adjusting the rear carrier to take up the slack, but you don't have to change the size of the tires.
going to a smaller tire will increase your take off. going down to a 12 tooth will also increase take off. your going to loose alot of top end.. id suggest you run a 14 tooth front with the 18" tires.
i really dont know why i said 12t. that was just one of the sprockets i thought of getting. i just wanted to get the facts about sprocket size and all that. ill probably end up going with the 14t with the 18'sMy question is why are you wanting to go to a 12t? I'm running a 14t with 22's pretty well and I'm a big boy (6'0 295#)
ya thats what im going to go with. also somebody said i could possibly have to change the rear sprocket size but ill just have to seei second that, if you do that its just gonna want to wheelie everywhere and not go anywhere in the top end so go with that tire and use a 14t front and run it like that and if you don't like it i would then adjust the rear.
