this is for our members on here that think safety is over rated.............

i'm a member of ford ranger forum (the only other forum i frequent)
and just saw this..............................

Jason Finn/frf member: DangerRanger91 was in an atv accident

qouted from FRF.............
"He went to the dirt track on NOV. 25th and was doing some riding when at a "x" intersection, a dirt bike collided with his quad, He has a broken collar bone, broken nose, stitches in his chin, a couple cracked vertebrae in his back, a partially collapsed lung and has three spots in his brain that are bleeding. They have a tube in his head to drain the fluids and keep his brain from swelling. He is in a medically induced coma right now. At the moment he is "stable" with the help of a breathing machine. And they had to do surgery on Saturday to reduce swelling of the brain"

i'm gonna assume if he was at a track, he had all the required safety equipment on, including a helmet

sad to hear that awk. sh*t happens like this all the time. I saw this comment on a YouTube video once. The video was a guy on his banshee with no helmet on. It said:

"thats a crazy looking helmet man, how much did it cost? A life?"

^^^^^ Best point ever made.

Theres nothing more important than safety.

saftey comes first, i recently outgrew my chest protector and have been begging to get a new one ever since, i don't feel safe without a neck brace, helmet, gloves, chest protector, knee pads and boots, been in a couple crashes and know that they coulda ended MUCH worse, unfortunantly for that man it did end bad and he is in the hospital in a coma, i hope the best to him and his family, and hope he gets a full recovery

they just posted.....HE WAS WEARING A HELMET, or wouldn't be here at all.

sucks to hear.....
hope he recovers....

but if this "track" has an "X" intersection, I am going to guess that no safety gear is required....

busco has many, many trail crossings, and helmets are required at all times, even to cross the road to the outhouses

but as stated, he was wearing his lid

That is really sad news. Very sorry to hear it. I hope he amazes everyone with a quick, full recovery.

That is true. Busco wants a helmet on you even if you're just going from a site to an outhouse.

Helmets...there is a quality dif... dont just wear DOT approved u need SNELL approved, there is also a level above snell which I cant recall... I'm old :/

i only have a D.O.T, but have planned to upgrade soon
but i made sure my son has a snell approved,
best part is, it's a fox helmet from rocky mountain clearence section, and was only $69

I didn't know there was anything other than DOT approval. Guess I'll be looking into some new helmets, for us.

AS is the other rating. from what I have seen the only helmets that are AS approved are the O'neal 8 series, all shoei and arai.

"Just an update... I talked with his mom and Jason isn't doing so well today, the brain swelling is increasing. No word on anything else. Still a waiting game to see what happens."
