frame gusset kit?

Well here are the pics of the gussets I made all welded in. I made them all from 1/8" plate steel. More than enough for the Blaster frame. Took me about 4hrs in all, and no dollars. Had the steel sitting around the shop, and as I stated earlier. The snow kept the customers away so we did it all on company time. Anyway here are the pics.

blaster1

Beefed steering stem mount!
blaster2

A better shot of the side of the front gussets.
blaster3

12 pieces all together!

No need for a-arm mounts. The steering stem mount was an overkill but hey what the hell it was free right.Well actually you got paid to do it.lol Looks good man.

Looks good!! But what about the A arm mounts?

Thanks! I actually welded the two pieces, of the A Arm mounts together on the rear mounts. Just ran a bead down them to beef them up while I was at it.

Thanks! Yeah the stem gussets did seem overkill. I read on the internet from someone that builds MX Blasters, that they tend to crack there, especially with extended steering stems. I am not going to be running a extended stem, but I figured while it was apart, might as well make it bombproof. Only took another 15-20 min more, I was actually going to weld 2 more plates on the outside of the stem mount. I deemed that overkill though. I still need to weld on the 660 nerf mounts, and I am thinking about drilling lightening holes into the gussets to save a few pounds. Haven't decided on that yet.

Any one got a drawing of the gussets? That can be laser/water cut? DXF or EPS file?

Any more photos of the gussets people have done?

Just did this drawing in Illustrator. Is this all the gussets? Let me know if there is more and I will add them. Green ones I wasn't sure about. I do know the yfz450 do them there.

Most important one imo is on the bottom of the frame right where the rear a arms bolt up/ where the frame bends out. They always seem to tweek there. I just cut out a steel plate the shape of the void and welded it in.

Not 100% sure on this have you got a photo? Thanks

Jus gonna throw my .02 cents into this gusset discussion.....
I've wrecked blasters in every possible way known, and the only place I've ever bent a frame (2 of them now) is right behind the a-arms. The rest of these gussets are uneeded....IMO

My current red/white blaster is gusseted behind the a-arms, hitting a large rock resulted in a bent American Star a-arm instead of the frame.
@ $400+ a set is that better than another $100 used frame ?
