welll i finally got my blaster fixed. and the ripped me off they wanted $400. i got it back on monday. and i have been sick all week so today was the first day i got to ride it. and i was rippin up and down the roads through the yard. i hit a little jump, and then i heard knocking, and then bogging and then it shut off. My dad called the shop and i said i didnt care how simple it was they were gonna fix it. so here i am stuck inside for the rest of the week with nothing to do.

that sucks dude, who did the work, and at what cost ???

I got really ripped off the local power sports dealer charged me $1000 for a bore and rebuild. They also bought me a new crank for no apparent reason. At least they did a good job.

yeah, I have learned not to have dealers do work on my quads...

a couple years ago, my blaster quit running so we took it to the dealership to get it fixed.

they put a new crank and piston in it.. cost like 900$ and the put a huge dent in my brand new pipe, and replaced my brand new UNI filter with a stock one.

so I went back and made them give me a new UNI filter but they would not do anything about the pipe....

my advice is everyone send your stuff to kenoconner... i thinkits worth 200 bucks in shipping both ways to get the best of the best.

i actually havent bought anything from him yet, but i have not read a single negitive thing on here, or other forums.

I do all my own work.....that way the only person I can biotch at is myself. I let a few select others do my work like when I need something powdercoated or engine work by Marc Cross, but other than that, f*ck every other "cliche" dealer/repair guy. I sent my quad to get rebuilt when it was 0.040 over to a local guy with a shop. I got it back and it lost compression fairly quickly. I can't even remember how much I paid, but it was major $$$ to get a piss poor rebuild job. I said f*ck it and tore the engine apart and mic'ed the engine out. The bore job was completely out of round and more oval than circular....hence why I managed to fry a top end in a matter of 2 weeks. I sent it out to HWD to get ported and the rest of my engine work, and he confirmed the same thing I found in that the bore job was completely out of round and needed rebored. I was pissed beyond belief at that local repair guy. The local "certified" dealer guys aren't any better. All they go by are the Clymer manuals and don't have the resources we have off of this forum and the like. They are just about getting a project done and gone ASAP to rake in $$$ when they are charging $100/hr for labor.

same happened to me bro. paid $862.98 some where around there for mine to get fixed and the shop put a cracked gear in and messed up my wiring. then charged me another 100 to fix their mistakes

I was half tempted to put a round through this guy's leg and then put another round through his other leg if he asked me why I shot him in the first place. X(

sounds like a small claims court issue. If a dealer/repair mechanic screws your stuff up, they are responsible for refunding your money, and paying all the secondopinions you have to have brought into court to testify for you.

but it can be quite annoying. I had to do this on a transmission that i had rebuilt in my car. However im currently out my money still but the guy did lose his business and has a lien on him.

man sure hope that doesnt happen to me.especially knowing i did the crank swap(1st time ever)
but if it does go kaboom ill be the only one to blame which is better then blaming some one else.
did they break in the motor or just rebuild it and give it back to you?

thats the arguement they tryed to use against me in court when i had a tranny rebuilt... that i didnt properly break it in...(BTW this is a car in mycase, not my blaster... same principle applies though)

Hence why I didn't go to court. It couldn't be filed in small claims as the expense was too much and I would of ended up paying so much in court costs and lost work time that it wasn't worth it.

actually we went sure what all was wrong with it, but they put boyessen reeds in it, they said it took them 4 hours to tune the carb and thats $65 an hour they charged us for a new spark plug and the one that was in it was brand new, they put a new left side oil seal on it which we provided to them, and a new main jet i think. and they wanted $400 for it.and what really pissed me off they were supposed to call before they started working on it and tell us how much might be.
