Got you in here now sucker muahahaha. Get ready for the nightmare I call properly jet your carb and put a new reed cage on idiot! Lol!

Ok so a few weeks ago I jetted my carb from the 230 to a 250. Nice smooth good throttle response bla bla bla. So I get a Boyesson cage and reeds from Cmh156 and put those in. Now it'll start but is real boggy. So I was told I was too rich go back to the 230 so I do that and it starts but is still not sounding 100% when running and after a minute of running I put it in first and it dies.

So now I take the carb out figure its pretty dirty take one of the extras I have that's clean and put the 250 in it and nothing. Change the plug (Ngk B8ES) and see the contact on my plug is loose and the wires inside are kinda gay. Said screw it and changed the coil and plug since I have the parts and have the coil and plug wire new (yay something went my way hooray whoopty sh*t lol).

So now I say screw it and take everything off again and put the stock cage and reeds back on with the 250 like I had it to begin with. Kicker is messed up with the little spring inside so it just flops out (can't get the kicker off either if you have any ideas). so I roll start it. Still the same thing. Starts but real boggy then cuts off. So using the powers of deduction I've come to one of two conclusions and they're probably wrong but whatever you've read this far lol.

One my airscrew is weird or by some off chance I didn't adjust the right screw?

Two. When I got the work done to it last fall the place that put my stator in cracked a hole in the case where the cover/chain guard attaches to the case.. Was told not to get it wet and have done that but a few weeks ago I washed it and forgot about the hole. I'm sure water got in there and I'm sure it got on the stator or whatever but after the quad dried I rode it around and it was fine and before I started this jet/reed cage garbage it started. So could the stator have been damaged but still worked weeks afterward?

So sorry for the headaches and the problems but I blew my whole weekend on this and got to ride for 5mins while it was 70 and sunny out :(. This weekend is supposed to be the same and I don't want to be spending it on wrench time again.

are you getting good contact from the plug, good spark? check the plug boot, is it gapped correctly, i believe its suppose to be .025, air screw is 1 1/2 turns out, check the reeds on the cage, might be cracked or broken, pull the cover off and check the stator with a ohms meter, you don't have anything rigged up past 55w? stock stator is 55 w max output, let me know if you get it

undo what you did.. and it should work right..
umm the kicker push it all the way down and hold it there then put the socket on it and a cheater pipe and start to step on the pipe with steady force it will crack the nut loose..

DVM??? i dunno.. whats that? a volt meter.. lowes, home depot, radio shack, autozone should have a compression tester..
i would put my stock reeds and carb back the way it was and see what happens.
make sure you didnt bend the float when putting it back togeather..

hes already done that, thats why i told him to check the stator, compression
I:I

Okay got the meter (dvm is digital voltage meter or multimeter sorry computer talk lol) and a compression tester.

Wth do I do with the meter? Lol. Never messed with one before not sure what I plug in and where or what to set the dial on.

Thanks for the help my ninjas lol.

305 I meant the voltage meter. I dunno what to hook up where. Just the meter and the wires to hook up to it to test whatever.

Don't think its the needle 916 but I can check. Won't have enough light to mess with any of it until 2moro.

Prolly be on here in the am again asking some stupid ? about how to get to the stator lol. (I do have the flywheel thingy though so it should be easy?)

Check and make sure the needle isn't bent in the carb. It runs right it just boggy, that is if you got good spark as mention above.

Pretty sure its not bent but ill check 2moro when I have more light 916.

And the volltage meter is what I'm lost on 305. What do I put where in the meter and what do I set the dial to and what exactly am I touching on the stator?

Thanks for the help guys :). I'm sure ill be on 2moro asking how to get the friggin cover off lol. (Although I do have the flywheel puller so it should be easier)

stop messing with the voltage meter. 55 watts is the lighting coil. it's a completely seperate circuit from the ignition. have you tried a couple new plug?? is your aircleaner serviced?? if your running no airbox lid, put it back on if it runs better...that should tell ya something.

^^he replaced the ignition, yeah if he is trying to put out more than 55w for lighting, the bike will not run, you running stock box? clean filter? check float height, i had the problem where my float was sticking. your choke assembly could not be disengaging.i have had that problem. thats about all i can think of at the moment

Eh heh heh smoker you said petcock eh heh heh lol

Fixed the kicker. Took the carb off the needle is straight. The float works on the carb and ill check the airbox lid thing. There's gas in it and the plug that was in it that cranked it a week ago was tried and then a brand new one was tried. Don't think its the spark plug.

I took the light off and have nothing else electrical running off of it. There's gas in it have checked it a few times and have drained the carb a few times. I have a see through hose going from my petcock (lmao) to the carb so as to see the gas flow.

As I was typing this via Blackberry I noticed a wire lose and hooked it back up. Going to put the carb back on and see what the deal is.

Will post back if this doesn't help. Thanks for the help guys! :)

Checked the needle its straight. Put it all back together and messed with the wires that dipshit that put the stator on had on there and attached one that wasn't hooked up. No luck kicking so I rolled it and still boggy.

When I first got this thing I had the same exact problem. End problem was the stator. Gonna play with that 2moro. Ill be on here early imsure. Racer X is pissed
