fitting boyesen reeds

hi , i am going to fit a set of two stage boyesen reeds , on the reed block there is a stop plate to stop the standard reeds from opening to far , should this plate be re-fitted with the boyesen reeds , thanks.:">

when i got my boyeson reeds i was told not to put them back on
