Hey,
Bought my first street legal enduro last night off of my dad's friend. It is a 1990 Yamaha XT600e with 6000miles, it was bought new by my dad's friends brother so we know both of the previous owners. It is in mint condition besides a couple scuffs on the front bumper. Here's some pics.

Looks like a nice bike, be safe!

To be honest, a manufacture cant cross a street bike and a dirtbike.
my dad has a wr and it does okay, although it was never street approved
a friend has a klx which is street legal. he has put more money into trying to make it ride like a dirt bike than it would have cost to buy a real bike

just my opinion, but dont be too disappointed offroad

Yeah, have only ridden hayfields so far but still have to pull apart the carbs for a cleaning but they are some weird two-stage thing called ydis... we will see how that goes this weekend. rides nice on grass and dirt road but definately not a good trail bike, wayyyy to heavy but i cant complain for $350 delivered with a new battery haha

Wow,do you realize what a nice ride you have?? Change the oil and take care of it(and ride the wheels off of it). Great bikes ,I have been watching for a clean example of that exact bike. I finally gave up because nothing turned up after 10 years! Enjoy it,be safe,be smart, and put a sh*tload of miles on it!

I would say "I'll sell it to you if you pick it up in Massachusetts" but I am already way too attached. I will say that I absolutely hate the carb system but I'm hoping that some gumout will get it good enough that i can clear it out from riding

Alright guys, I have had the whole thing apart (minus engine, runs perfect), gotten it sparkling clean and carb, airfilter, plug etc done. Will post some pics soon. I am looking to replace the scratched up front fender and update the styling a little bit.
1. What style would you do? supermoto style? one off of a yz 125? the ones off 125s bolt up direct but i can also get a universal one and drill it. would a supermoto one look odd if i kept the 21 inch front wheel?
2. What color? I am leaning towards black or white because it would be hard to colormatch the blue. White stays cleaner (doesnt show scratches) but i dont know if it will look good...
open to any and all input!

I kind of like the supermoto style fender. That being said that I'm not sure how it would look though. I'd think it would look fine and just be a little shorter.
As far as color black and whiter are definitely an option but I think it'd look cool if you could find one that was a similar grey color like whats on the bike now.

Ohhhh I hadnt even thought of grey! Now the problem is finding grey... I would prefer not to paint over a brand new fender but I have not had any luck finding a grey fender.

yeah i might try plasti-dipping them but i really like the color scheme now even though it looks a little out-dated. I might get a white fender and some gray or blue plasti-dip or both and some clear coat so that i have lots of color options and can always change it up
