I have a 2001 blaster stock motor with fmf pipe, drilled air box, stock fuel injector, and rest stock. I was riding around in ten inches of fresh snow i always spin the tires and was riding it hard. The connection from the fmf pipe and exahuast pipe is rubber and it caught on fire. the pipe was red hot. i used snow to put the fire out. it runs fine now but burnt a hole through the rubber connection. any ideas on why it over heated? iv had it for years and always ride hard. iv never had any problems before. what should i do to not let it happen again? since im using a stock oil enjector can i mix 2 cycle oil in with my gas and what should it be?

thanks for any ideas or advice.

snows always bad. you ride hard but go no where with no air circulation. just overheated because you were probably pumpin along in the snow hard. think about it, yeah you ride hard, but try ridding hard in the snow and the engine works 2x harder because its spinning out half the time as well as going slower.

also, if you havent rejeted for winter, jet richer for the cold. could have been a bit lean.

Exactly^^^^
Any quad motor is going to work x2 as hard. Your not getting the best traction and when your gunning it, your motor is stressing out when the wheels are just spinning. If you run it hard in normal weather, your running it twice as hard in the snow.
