I bought this quad a few weeks back and have been taking it apart and making sure all was well ever since.

Here is how it sat on Wednesday.

By noon on Thursday I had it back together and running.

Here Is a list of what I changed.

Lower profile handlebars
Shock covers
New seat cover
Painted the exhaust
Rebuilt the carb
Boyesen reeds
New bore and piston
New main bearings/and a complete seal kit
New chain/sprockets and swing arm roller
New stator cover
New motor cases
Fresh brake fluid

I think that's about it.

Here is how it turned out.

Strange in what way? It's raining a river in NJ this weekend so I won't be able to ride it for a few days. I rebuild the carb and still have to adjust it, but will wait until I can get the motor warmed up and able to ride it.

This was the part I was scared of! :)

You have no idea how relieved I was to have that motor start right up after having it completely disassembled. I'm talking every bolt, and every transmission gear. It all came apart to get a good cleaning and checking over. I had the new cases blasted and new bearing pressed in for me(the blind bearings, I did the others), but other than that I did all the work. Kinda makes you feel good in the end!

I should have taken before and after engine pics. It looks like sh*t sitting on the table, but looked brand new when it went back in.

lookin good bro, excellent job, should give you years of pleasure now

Wow nice job. I just finished my first complete engine rebuild and wished i would of taken more pics. I was so scared to fire it up after i put it back together

Finally got it good and broke in and decided to do a couple more tests. I leak down tested again and found none, and did a compression test. 155 cold and 145 hot.
