Reposting again because no one answered. Need help
if you have been following my past threads you would have known my quad wouldnt run was leaking oil fixed that with a new base gasket and high temp silicone solved that problem airleak fouled plugs and quad would not run idle fine and low end fine no mid or high range. i checked everything but what it cam down to was the filter i was running quad will run with UNI but doesnt run with the K&N weird but whatever works

what i found was when i washed the K&N with water and let it dry for 2 days then oiled it and let that dry for 2 more days it was still wet the kn oil would puddle in the bottom of air box this not only happened to me but my neighbor we both run the same setup too for now i will run UNI but i feel this happened due to the temp change in my area

but now since i need the uni my friend had to use the K&N and his quad runs fine with it now but 2 monthes ago it wouldnt run with it some weird stuff is there a special trick to the K&N drying because ours wont

Also I feel like it builds up in the low end. Just doesn't feel right. Gonna put another new plug in and leak test it again

Different temps and different air filters require different main jets.

The only sure fire way to know just where your jetting is at, is to do plug chops.

toomey pipe 310 is what run ran fine with kn until i washed it now only uni works

I have never ran a K&N on my quad but in my cars/truck i do I also dont really wash it! Spray the cleaner on let sit for 5 minutes, rinse off inside to out with warm water, let that dry completely one day if ya have it by the heater vent or radiator heat. Then light coat of oil, let that sit overnight you won't have any issues.

The filter is soaked with water and oil hopefully no water gets inside your buddys motor! Why it works in his and not yours i have no idea makes no sense.

310 with uni and toomey should still be fine. I ran mine with an uni, full b1 and air box vents for about 2 years with no problems. That shouldn't be the issue.

Because it was still wet!

how could it be wet after 4 days of drying
My Cleaning Method
1. Wash and rinse with hot soap and water
2. let ir dry for 2 days while getting work done
3. oiled it and dryed for another day

next time i will blow dry it

The K&N filter cleaning packs can be bought for around $10 at an auto parts store. The cleaner is designed to break the oil down so it ALL comes off the filter. When the filter is clean it will appear to be almost white in color. Once dried, apply a "light" coat of oil also supplied in the cleaning kit, one pass and you should see the filter turn red from the oil. If you put so much oil on the filter that it is pooling then you are using way to much oil. Also keep in mind that all the air filters that use oil in them are designed to wet trap the dirt and particles. The filter should never be dry but always be wet enough to trap the debris. This is why there is so many discussions on using the K&N filters on quads that see much more dirt and debris that a car filter does.
