extra wire on newer engine

Got a quick question. I have a 1998/99 (not positive which) blaster. I just purchased a 2004 engine off ebay and there is an extra wire in the harness comming off the engine, It's green with a white stripe. this is the harness that connects just below the front of the seat and behind the gas tank.
question is, is this an issue or just maybe a non essentual lead. (hoping)

well i think the newer motor have a different tors setup and it maybe part of that, and to find out what year your blaster is, check the 10th letter or number in the vincode, if it is a letter count backwards in the alphabet and how ever many letters away it is from z is how many years behind 2000 it is

It's a ground wire for the stator.

my ricky stator came with extra wire. instructions said just 2 ground it
