Hey guys, I've been thinking about extending my swing arm so I've been looking at a lot of pictures on the site and notice that most people extend theirs in FRONT of the shock mount. Wouldn't it be better to extend it behind the shock mount? What does extending it in either position do to the way the bike sits?

Actually I believe I was the first person to extend a blaster swingarm in 1989. I blocked the swingarm up so it was level, then slid it thru a band saw cutting the ears and welded in some 2" barstock and braced it. Took an hour to do, looked much cleaner and stood up to a real beating. I then used the brace I welded in as part of the support for the shockmount relocation bracket that more than doubled the stock wheel travel.
